Drew, Steve, Robin, Greg, Moses, Alex and I are all getting ready for our event next week in Puerto Rico. We're producing the Summer Trip for Jafra's Hispanic Division. We did this same event for Jafra last year but in Hawaii. This event is special -- it's on the island of Puerto Rico -- a favorite for most of the 500 guests. We'll be at the new Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa August 9-12th. It's a fairly straight-forward event, however, we're building a huge custom set for the awards gala and doing an interactive dance number complete with costumes, fog effects and lasers for the opening general session (Jafra has a few major surprises in store for its guests). The event also marks the first time we'll be shooting an on-site highlight video using P2 technology (tapeless, via the HVX200). So we're very excited about that.
However, things won't be the same this year... Rolanda Rodriguez -- the woman at Jafra who really made these events happen -- recently passed away. It was a huge surprise to all of us. To be honest, I really haven't had a chance to sit quietly and think about Rolanda (Drew and I missed the memorial service because we were in Peru with CHF). A part of me still can't believe she's gone. It's very surreal. I know it'll all catch up to me on-site... just before doors open or once the event is officially over, it'll catch up to me.
